About Us
About Our Trust
The Zochonis Charitable Trust (ZCT) was founded by Sir John Zochonis in 1977 to assist charities operating in the North West of England. It was funded by Sir John donating a considerable number of his own PZ Cussons shares. In its first year, the Trust made just one donation to The University of Manchester. Since then that figure has risen substantially.
Today the focus is mainly on Greater Manchester with an additional portion being given to a small number of UK based charities operating in West Africa. ZCT makes grants in the following four categories – Children & Youth, Education, Health and Social Equity. Grant recipients range from large national charities, with a north west presence, to smaller local charities.
Currently ZCT is run by 4 Trustees and a Management Assistant.
